Fruity Spice Rolls

FRUITY SPICE ROLLS

Recipe from "101+ Recipes from The Herb Lady"

http://www.herbs2u.net

INGREDIENTS

1 package crescent roll dough
3 tablespoons apricot preserves or jam
1/2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon dried ground turmeric
8 teaspoons raisins (or other dried fruit cut in small dice)

 DIRECTIONS

Turmeric has so many really healthy things going for it (you can even dye with it) and it is a fragrant spice which can be used in savory or sweet cooking.  I love prepackaged crescent roll dough—it is so versatile and quick cooking. (You can use your own rising roll dough.)

Pre-heat oven according to package directions. Have baking sheet ready.
Melt preserves, butter, and ground turmeric together. Blend well. Mix in raisins to coat.
Spoon about 1 mounded teaspoon mixture on each crescent triangle, roll, and place on tray. Use any left over syrup to brush tops of rolls. Bake according to directions. This is a not-too sweet dessert, accompaniment to meals, or as a breakfast sweet-roll.  If you want it sweeter, sprinkle sparingly with cinnamon sugar.
