About the Arizona Almanac

Ed Phillips is one of the more recognizable images in Arizona, a television meteorologist since 1979. He's also been the "Weather Voice" of KTAR Radio since 1983.

He says, "I couldn't leave well enough alone." and ran for the Arizona State Senate twice - and won both times. In one election by a 75% margin.

Ed lives in Phoenix with wife Anne and two sons - and "loves living in Arizona."

A Message from Ed

Welcome to our new media project.  I've written the original printed Almanac since 1980. Now, in the 21st Century, the "Almanac" is also a radio show, a web site and a newsletter - all about "The Way of Life called Arizona."

Like the original Almanac, our goal is to bring you information that's needed, extremely interesting, but often unnoticed - all about living in our great State. Every week our show will try to bring you community leaders, but also people contributing to our way of life that we don't always have time to notice.

It's on Saturday, so it won't be as serious as the rest of the week. It's kicked back with a bit of Western flavor. If we don't have some fun during our time on the air - we'll be disappointed.

So, thanks for taking the time to read this. Please stay active with us. Register for our club, "Ed's Radio Rangers." We'll try to make your "membership" profitable with coupons and discounts on some good family events. And suggestions - there's plenty of room on the site for your ideas about guests, programs and subjects. (We promise to never give out your e-mail address. Never. Don't you hate that when they do that?)

Finally please support our sponsor Tourguide USA. I think they have a fabulous product and am proud to endorse them.

We love you Arizona,
