Dr. Mark Bierner returns to the Arizona Almanac with what's happening at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. This week: Bird and Dragonfly walks!
Driving on the 4th of July holiday?. Normally, the road construction would almost be completly shut down. But Doug Nintzel from ADOT says that may not be the case this year.
Political handicapping is to Greg Patterson, The Espresso Pundit as coffee is to a coffee drinker. You have to have your daily serving and you enjoy the heck out of it. This week Greg handicaps the Republican presidential candidates.
Jody Owen from "The Space You're In" has a bit of a social commentary this week. We call it our "personal space" and she has suggestions to make yours better and more productive.
"Bad Manners and Liars" is this week's Trimble's Tales from Marshall Trimble, AZ Official State Historian.
Rory Aikens, Arizona Game and Fish says it doesn't make trout unsafe to eat. However, "Whirling Disease" has invaded part of our state and it makes some species of trout really act weird.
Shade is almost as valuable as gold in the summer in Arizona. Dave Owens, the Garden Guy tells us how and what to grow so we have plenty of it.
Tony LaConte, Stargazing for Everyone has the details of quite a show taking place in the Western sky with Venus and Saturn.
Catherine, "The Herb Lady" says container gardening has a few tricks this time of year. As always, she shares them to make your container gardening more successful.
Paul Eischeid has gotten a dubious promotion of sorts. He has long been one of Arizona's Most Wanted. Just this week he was promoted to the U.S. Marshal's 15 Most Wanted List. Eischeid is wanted for homicide and racketeering, so again this week he is This Week's Arizona's Most Wanted.
Catherine the Herb Lady returns again this week with Arizona Almanac Greatest Recipe. She has an excellent recipe she makes for her "honey". It's called "Deane's Favorite Burger".

Ever wonder why solar energy isn't more widespread and available in Arizona? John Balfour of Perfectpower, Inc. says that the pieces are now in place for Arizona to claim its rightful place as the solar energy state
A major section of an East Valley freeway is nearing completion and Doug Nintzel from ADOT has the good news for commuters.
According to Greg Patterson, The Espresso Pundit the Arizona Republican Party is in meltdown and it may get worse before it gets better.
Magazines entertain us and inform us and sometimes nearly bury us at home or the office. Jody Owen from "The Space You're In" has some suggestions to get them under control.
Trivia is another of Marshall Trimble, AZ State Historians favorite things to share with us. That's what he does this week and we think you will enjoy it.
Rory Aikens, Arizona Game and Fish warned us a few weeks ago about bear attacks. A recent fatality in Utah has Rory back to remind us about how dangerous it can be in the wild and what to do to stay "Bear Aware".
We are in the height of the dry season and Dave Owens, the Garden Guy has suggestions on keeping and forest and grass fires well away from our homes.

It's called the summer solstice. What does that really mean? Tony LaConte, Stargazing for Everyone explains the astronomy behind our summer season.

A perpetual garden? Dave Owens, the Garden Guy says not only is it easy, he can tell us how to do it.
A couple of weeks ago Catherine, "The Herb Lady" said that our summer was a lot like winter in North Dakota as far as plants were concerned. This week she shows us that there may be a few things you can plant in the summer and get lucky.
Paper can be expensive in your office if you do a lot of document preparation. Storing paper correctly can save you money. There is no one better to tell us how to do it than Jody Owen from "The Space You're In".

 Doug Nintzel, ADOT reminds us of the tips to make our summer driving safe and worry-free.

Jody Owen"The Space You're In" helps us get unstuck this week. Are you stuck in a rut and feel it is hopeless? Jody has some excellent suggestions.

Did you know that Arizona had a navy? Marshall Trimble, AZ State Historian has the story that will entertain and surprise you.

Mulch is not sexy. However, Dave Owens, the Garden Guy can get excited about it for your yard and garden, so listen to how much fun he has with it.

Tony LaConte, Stargazing for Everyone says that the planet Venus is at it's best. And the good news is that you don't have to stay up late or get up early in the morning.

Catherine, "The Herb Lady" knows what a hassle it is to get someone to take care of your plants when you are gone. She not only has a way to help if you are just going to be gone for a few days, her suggestion helps you recycle, too.

Arizona Almanac Greatest Recipe this week from Catherine the Herb Lady is more thrillin' grillin'. This week the best grilled corn on the cob you have ever had.

 Doug Nintzel, ADOT says that this week there is another new feasibility study and this time it is for I-17.
Jody Owen"The Space You're In" is talking labelers this week. Sure it sounds strange, but a correctly used labeler can help you find things and get you more organized.
Marshall Trimble, AZ State Historian loves ghost stories almost as much as stories about mines and trains. This week's "Trimble's Tale" is the story of the "Red Ghost ".
Rory Aikens, Arizona Game and Fish has some common sense boating times now that water is warming up and we are heading for the lakes and rivers.

Dave Owens, the Garden Guy says there are a few vegetable that will survive the winter. Listen to how it is done in the desert.

Tony LaConte, Stargazing for Everyone has the times and days to see Mercury. This small planet close to the sun is tough to find, but Tony knows where to look.
